FT6800 Series High Power Programmable DC Electronic Load

FT6800 series high-power electronic load, single power from 2.6KW ~ 52KW, voltage up to 1000V, maximum current of 1200A, support up to four FT6800 can be cascaded synchronously to form a higher power electronic load. Mainly used for testing high-power power systems, power battery packs, power electronic components and other products. The FT6800 series of electronic loads include basic test modes such as CC, CV, CR, and CP. Transient and sequence tests are provided to simulate changes in various dynamic loads with transient frequencies up to 20KHz. The user can also simulate a short circuit operation by pressing a button.
The FT6800 series has a unique battery capacity test function. This makes it a unique advantage in the field of battery testing. At the same time, the electronic load integrates timely and accurate voltage and current measurement functions, allowing users to make timely voltage measurements and adjustments online.
The FT6800 series has flexible operation. Quick operation and setting on the electronic load can be achieved through the color display on the front panel, knobs and numeric keys. The FT6800 provides communication interfaces such as GPIB, RS232, and USB. These interfaces are used to connect to a computer, and remote monitoring can be easily implemented using a standard command system. The FT6800 series electronic load provides over-current, over-voltage, over-power, over-temperature, voltage inversion, and other protection functions. It also has Von, Voff function and programmable protection for the device under test. This comprehensive protection ensures the quality and reliability of the FT6800 series. The FT6800 series features programmable analog inputs (0 to 10V) for complex waveform loading.
At the same time, the FT6800 series provides voltage and current monitoring ports (0 to 10V) to monitor voltage and current waveforms in a timely manner.

◆Low voltage characteristics and operable range

The FT6800 series series load has a minimum operable voltage of 1V at full load within the operating range. Designed for low voltage operation, it is suitable for testing DC/DC converters, fuel cells and other low voltage-high current components. In addition, if the voltage is controlled between 0 and 2V, the current that can be carried, please refer to the V-I curve in the figure below. The typical operational range of the FT6800 series of loads is shown in the figure.

◆Load cascade

The FT6800 series electronic load can realize load cascading function in a "one master, multiple slave" manner to adapt to higher power load.

The load rear panel has a cascaded signal input and three cascaded signal output ports. The signal range of each port is 0 to 8.7V, indicating the load current from zero to full scale. The host controls the slave's current carrying current by cascading the output signal. When the load is cascaded, only one load must be the host, and the other load is set to the slave. When the main unit is cascaded, the wiring diagram is as shown on the right.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

◆Transient function

Transient function refers to the electronic load switching between different values under the same function. The FT6800 Series Electronic Load Transient Test feature provides three modes of continuous, flip and pulse. The transient frequency can be up to 20KHz, and the switching slope can be set, wherein the maximum slope of the current can reach 60A/us. This function is often used to test the transient characteristics of the power supply, the protection characteristics of the battery protection board, and battery pulse charging.

 

 

 

◆Sequence test

The user can edit the test sequence of a load to simulate various changes at the load input. The sequence tests four modes of CC, CV, CP and CR. The electronic load can store up to 20 sequence files, each file can be executed up to 50 steps, and the maximum time of single step can be set to 90000s, which is suitable for long-term load test. At the same time, the user can also set the number of cycles and switching mode of the sequence.

 

◆Measurement function and short circuit

 The FT6800 series uses a 16-bit high-precision A/D converter with a measurement accuracy of 0.05%+0.02% F.S., current 0.05%+0.1%F.S., power 1%+0.1%F.S. High-precision measurements are indispensable for determining the efficiency of the object to be tested and other important parameters. The FT6800A series also provides analog short-circuit function. The FT6800A series short-circuit operation includes: delay and switching.

 

◆Battery test

Battery internal resistance and capacity are important indicators for evaluating battery parameters. For ease of testing, the FT6800 series provides battery testing. Including: battery internal resistance test and battery capacity test.

Battery internal resistance test

The internal resistance of the battery is divided into charging internal resistance and discharge internal resistance. This series of electronic load is tested by DC discharge method (DCR) for battery internal resistance. With the FT8000R option, the internal resistance/capacity change curve during battery charge and discharge can be tested.

The battery capacity is divided into charging capacity and super capacity. The electronic load of this series is tested by the actual discharge method for battery capacity. With the FT8000R option, the charging cycle and life test can be performed.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

◆Supercapacitor test

Supercapacitor internal resistance and capacity are important indicators for evaluating battery parameters. To facilitate supercapacitor testing, the Fes FT6800 series provides supercapacitor testing. This function can simultaneously test the internal resistance and capacity of the super capacitor.

Set the super capacitor's discharge current, discharge termination point, capacity calculation start and end point to test, more accurate, please use FT68000C option!

 

Automatic testing

The FT6800 series electronic load features flexible, automated test capabilities. It includes multiple test modes such as CC, CV, CR and CP. It can analyze the measurement results of each step separately, making the FT6800 series series unique in R&D and fault analysis. Fully automatic operation can greatly improve work efficiency.

 

◆SCPI and remote control

The FT6800 series electronic load supports standard SCPI commands, and all functions of the panel operation can be realized by SCPI commands. This facilitates the formation of intelligent test platforms and the secondary development of users. The FT6800 series can easily realize remote control of electronic loads through RS232, USB, GPIB and other interfaces.

 

◆Functional software

Faith offers a functional software with virtual instrumentation. Test data can print reports, produce images, export reports, and save data. The software is more intuitive and easy to compare in the way that images and data are displayed together.

Display mode: all display (multiple tests or long time display), oscilloscope mode (single test image and parameters)

Basic tests: functional test, dynamic test, aging and accelerated aging, load capacity test.

Sequence Test: Provides a sequence test function of up to 50 steps.

Autotest: Complete automatic quality determination of the power supply.

Overload test: Complete the power supply limit test and produce an image. OCP, OVP, OPP testing.

Battery Simulation Test: Simulates the charge and discharge test of the battery.

SCPI communication: support customers' own editing functions and communication debugging.

 

OCP test function

The load provides a rising ramp current to test whether the voltage of the device under test can reach the termination potential to determine whether the OCP protection is normal. This test checks the output response of the device under test in an overload condition.

Set the lower limit and upper limit of the current check on the tolerance check setting interface. If the current check range is set, the screen will prompt “GO” or “NG” after the test is completed.

 

Analog programming

The CC and CV functions can be continuously controlled by an external voltage signal (DC or AC). The external programming input voltage range is 0~10V, which corresponds to the zero to full scale value of the module constant current and constant voltage functions. Load control of arbitrary waveforms can be achieved by externally programming the input voltage.

 

◆Protective function

The FT6800 series offers a full range of protection features such as overvoltage, overcurrent, overpower, overtemperature, and voltage inversion. In addition, the user can set the appropriate programmable voltage, current, and power protection values as needed. When the output voltage of the device under test rises or falls slowly, the Von and Voff functions can be turned on. The comprehensive protection function ensures the reliability of the product and is a reliable product for engineering test and automatic test systems.
