Load characteristics
The FT6400 features a modular design, rich functionality, strong adaptability (strong self-excitation), high reliability and high maintainability. Mainly used in: power battery, medium and large power DC power supply, DC generator and other power electronics testing fields.
The FT6400 includes basic test modes such as CC, CV, CR, and CP. Dynamic test and sequence tests are also available to simulate changes in various dynamic loads with transient frequencies up to 20KHz. The user can also simulate a short circuit operation by pressing a button.
The FT6400 has a battery capacity test, (power battery or super capacitor) internal resistance test function. This gives it a unique advantage in battery and supercapacitor testing.
The FT6400 has a rich interface, friendly interface and easy operation. Quickly operate and set up via the front panel TFT color display or VFD display, knobs and numeric keys. The FT6400 provides RS232, LAN, GPIB and other communication interfaces. These interfaces are connected to the computer and can be easily controlled remotely using standard SCPI programming instructions.
The FT6400 electronic load provides over-current, over-voltage, over-power, over-temperature, voltage inversion, and other protection functions. It also has Von, Voff function and programmable protection for the device under test. These features greatly enhance the reliability of the product and are a trusted product for engineering test and automated test system integration.

Functions & Advantages

Steady state function

The FT6400 series electronic load has a basic test mode of constant current, constant voltage, constant resistance and constant power to meet a wide range of test requirements. For example, constant current and constant resistance modes can be used to test whether the output voltage maintains a stable output under different load conditions. For battery chargers and vehicle charging posts, the constant voltage mode changes the output voltage of the charger and charging post to verify that the output current is correct.

Dynamic function


To meet the growing demand for high-speed testing, the FT6400 series of electronic loads offer high-speed programmable dynamic test functions (current dynamics and resistance dynamics). The dynamic test function allows the user to set the load high/low level, T1/T2 time and switching slope with a maximum slope of 10A/us. This feature is often used to test power supply dynamics. In order to meet the needs of different occasions, the dynamic functions include three modes: continuous, pulse and flip. Continuous mode provides up to 20kHz of carrier frequency; in pulse and flip mode, it can accept changes in the high/low level of the load value caused by multiple trigger sources, let your test do whatever you want.

Sequence function

Under the sequence test function, the load (only for the FT6410A-FT6431A) simulates complex changes at the input based on the user-edited sequence file. Edit sequence file number (1~4), test mode (CC, CV, CP, CR), sequence link (0~4, 0 means no link), sequence step (1~50), single step delay (0 Parameters such as ~99999.9S) can generate complex test sequences to meet complex test requirements. Battery test function

To facilitate battery testing, the FT6400 Series offers battery testing capabilities. Battery testing includes: battery internal resistance test and battery capacity test. For battery discharge, the FT6400 series offers three discharge modes: constant current, constant resistance and constant power (for FT6410A-FT6431A only). In terms of battery discharge measurement, it is possible to measure discharge time and discharge capacity (AH and WH).

 

 

Battery discharge test

The FT6400 series load provides professional ESR measurement functions, supports a variety of measurement standards, and has the advantages of accurate measurement and repeated measurement stability, which can effectively evaluate the ESR parameters of automotive batteries and super capacitors.

Protective function

The FT6400 series offers a full range of protection features such as overvoltage, overcurrent, overpower, overtemperature, and voltage inversion. In addition, the user can set the voltage, current, and power protection values as needed. When the output voltage of the device under test rises or falls slowly, the Von and Voff functions can be turned on. To meet more test requirements, Von's load voltage supports both lock and non-lock modes. The comprehensive protection function ensures the reliability of the product and is a reliable product for engineering test and automatic test systems.

SCPI and remote control


The FT6400 series electronic load supports standard SCPI commands, and all functions of panel operation can be realized through SCPI commands. This facilitates the formation of intelligent test platforms and the secondary development of users. The FT6400 series realizes remote control of electronic loads through RS232, LAN, GPIB (optional) interfaces.
